The Post table can be sorted by Title, by Author or by date. You also have the option of selecting one of the filters to get a list of the posts in that filter. Posts can also be searched by entering a keyword in the search box and clicking the Search Posts button. In additional the table columns can be hidden by clicking the Screen Options tab and selecting the columns you want to show or unselecting the ones you want to hide. And there's an option to limit the number of posts that show in the table. The bulk action feature is also available by selecting the posts, then the bulk actions and clicking the Apply button. And Posts can be filtered by date or category or by date and category by selecting a date and a category from the drop down and clicking the Filter button The TITLE of the post is what was entered in the title line when the post was created. This is an active link and can be clicked to edit that post. The post status is listed next to the Title for any post that has not been published. Tags are independent of each other have no hierarchy like a parent and child relationship. Tags can be created when writing a post or they can be created in the Posts Tags screen where they're also be managed. The screen is divided into the Add New Tag section. the Tag Table and a Popular tags cloud that will only be visible when tags are added to posts. Each of these Tags in the tag cloud can be clicked to edit that Tag. To add a new Tag enter a name in the name field. The Tag slug must be unique. WordPress allows the tag name to have a duplicate if you use a unique slug. The "slug" is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers and hyphens. You can assign a slug in the Slug field or leave it blank and WordPress will created one for you. The description for the Tag is optional and may be used by some themes or plugins.
